CHICAGO, IL – November 5, 2015 – Procured Health (Procured), a provider of data-driven technologies that improve patient care while also eliminating wasteful spending, announced today that Baptist Health, has selected the company’s IntelligencePRO™ and EvaluationPRO™ solutions. The Arkansas-based health system will be incorporating the solutions into their clinical product evaluation process to facilitate more rigorous clinical spend management and enhance quality of care.
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare provider in Arkansas, with more than 175 points of access, including eight hospitals and the state’s largest primary-care physician network. The health system has been honored by the National Research Corporation with the prestigious Consumer Choice Award for twenty consecutive years and was top-rated by the organization for having the best doctors and nurses, as well as superior safety and quality. Baptist Health was also named a “Blue Distinction Center,” by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield for cardiac care, bariatric surgery, knee and hip replacement, and spine surgery. Baptist Health is a member of the Upper Midwest Purchasing Coalition.
“At Baptist Health, we’re committed to delivering the best care to the community we serve. We chose Procured as our strategic partner because their platform will help us to drive even more value through its evidenced-based approach to clinical product evaluation,” says Andrew Montgomery, Vice President of Supply Chain at Baptist Health. “We view Procured’s clinical research and workflow solutions as an investment in both the health of our patients and our ability to increase access to care to the people of Arkansas.”
Procured’s platform is designed to empower the buyers and users of medical products, and to improve clinical outcomes while also aggressively reducing medical product expenditures. Clinical supplies represent the second largest and fastest growing cost category for hospitals. Uninformed clinical supply decisions account for more than $25 billion in wasteful spending annually. Procured’s web-based applications enable health systems and clinicians to improve both clinical outcomes and financial performance by incorporating evidence into their product selection, utilization, and contracting strategies.
“In an era where hospitals cannot afford any wasteful spending, smart, value-driven organizations are focusing on improving quality, while also reducing supply costs—especially for expensive physician preference items. Our platform promotes outcomes-based decisions, ongoing process improvement, and physician collaboration, with the end goal of increasing value for patients system-wide,” explains Hani Elias, Chief Executive Officer of Procured Health. “With the support of our team and technology, Baptist’s already robust value analysis process can continue to mature and advance into 2016 and beyond.”
